O projeto “Típicas” procura valorizar o património cultural através da ilustração. Respondendo ao desafio de trabalhar com o limite de uma folha A3, a proposta transformou-se num arquivo visual portátil composto por seis postais com dimensões 100x143mm. O tema central foca-se nas bonecas tradicionais de diferentes regiões, explorando não apenas como objetos lúdicos, mas como símbolos que carregam crenças, materiais e as identidades de diferentes culturas do mundo.
The "Típicas" project seeks to celebrate cultural heritage through illustration. Responding to the challenge of working within the limits of an A3 sheet, the proposal was transformed into a portable visual archive made up of six postcards measuring 100x143mm. The central theme focuses on traditional dolls from different regions, exploring them not only as playful objects, but as symbols that carry beliefs, materials, and the identities of different cultures around the world.
A investigação baseou-se na escolha de seis bonecas de geografias distintas como principal desafio concetual traduzir estes objetos volumétricos para o papel. Através da ilustração digital, as formas e os padrões de cada peça foram simplificados, criando uma coleção visualmente coerente. O layout reflete esta organização: a frente de cada postal destaca a ilustração de forma limpa e centrada, enquanto o verso funciona como ficha informativa sobre a história e características associados à boneca.
The research was based on selecting six dolls from distinct geographies, with the main conceptual challenge being to translate these volumetric objects onto paper. Through digital illustration, the shapes and patterns of each piece were simplified, creating a visually coherent collection. The layout reflects this organization: the front of each postcard highlights the illustration in a clean, centered way, while the back functions as an information card about the history and characteristics associated with the doll.
Impresso em risografia a duas cores (preto e vermelho) não foi uma decisão puramente estética. As pequenas falhas de registo, a textura orgânica da tinta e as sobreposições típicas desta máquina mimetizam o caráter artesanal e “imperfeito” das bonecas feitas à mão.
Printed in risograph using two colors (black and red), this was not a purely aesthetic decision. The small registration mismatches, the organic texture of the ink, and the overlaps typical of this machine mimic the handmade, "imperfect" character of the handcrafted dolls.
